You can find also various ponds and picnic grounds. Film Museum Located in Vondelpark and has the Netherlands’ largest cinematographic collection. It regularly screens international films. Street markets, entertainment and music all over the city (and country). Everybody dresses up in orange (national color) and goes out to have fun. A day to remember. Vrijmarkt Queen’s night (April 29) the night before Queen’s Day, the night to party with people finding a place to sell their old stuff / clothes / things on the streets April 19 - 30, 2007 Fun Fair on Dam Square On Dam Square you will find all sorts of attractions, great for kids. April 21, 2007 Flower Parade (starts at 9:30 am) Annual Flower parade Saturday: starts at Noordwijk and goes to Haarlem (totally 40 km). You can see 20 large floats and more than 30 luxury cars as well as marching bands Open Gardens June 15 – 17, 2007 During these days, about 30 gardens will be open to the public. This year’s theme: garden designs. You can buy a three-day pass at the tourist office for 12 euros including more information. Canal Festival August 11-19, 2007 Beautiful classical and opera concerts are given at Prinsengracht. Highly recommended. Gay Parade August 4, 2007 From the beginning to the end of Prinsengracht canal you will see a colorful outrageous boat parade with all sorts of ‘sailors’ / very special Parade August 24 – September 2, 2007 A Dutch happening, a kind of fun fair with all sorts of films / theater / music.
